Recently NASA on Sept. 27 a supermoon lunar eclipse will occur in the U.S. And much of the world, but what does that mean?

One important note, is that this event can be referred to in many different ways:

1) Supermoon Eclipse

2)Super Blood Moon

3)Supermoon Lunar Eclipse

All slightly different names, but apply to the same spectacular event that will occur this weekend. Since it’s rare that both a supermoon and an lunar eclipse occur at the same time, let’s break it down.

1) Supermoon

A supermoon is a full or new moon that falls closest to the fall equinox, and is at its closest approach to the Earth. This results in the moon appearing up to 14% larger in diameter.

2) Lunar Eclipse

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly behind the Earth into its shadow. This can give the moon a red tint.

3) A Supermoon Lunar Eclipse!

The combination of these two events does not happen very often. In fact, since 1900 a supermoon lunar eclipse has only happened 5 times! The last time this occurred was 1982, and if you miss the event this year, your next opportunity won’t come until 2033. This year, the event will be visible from the Americas, Europe and Africa on the night of Sept. 27. Here’s a full schedule of the supermoon eclipse:

If it’s cloudy in your area on Sept. 27, don’t worry! NASA Television will be providing a live stream of the event, so you can tune in and enjoy the show.

Fly over Pluto :

NASA has released some truly stunning images of Pluto since it began the year-long download of the rest of New Horizons' data. Now the agency has taken some of those images and made a new virtual flyover of the dwarf planet, and the results are pretty spectacular.

The video was made with images that were released last Friday, all of which were taken by New Horizons' LORRI (Long Range Reconnaissance Imager) camera. It starts low, just above the mountains that the New Horizons team calls the Norgay Montes region, then heads north to the icy plains of the Sputnik Planum and black craters of the Cthulhu Regio. (These names were picked by the New Horizons team, and while they are unofficial, it hasn't stopped NASA from regularly using them.) And because New Horizons is now sending back uncompressed images, the video is much higher resolution than the last flyover video that NASA released.

Just a few months ago, our best images of Pluto were a blurry mess. Now, we're seeing the dwarf planet in unprecedented detail, and the view keeps getting better and better.

The Jungle Book :

The classic Disney tale is getting a makeover, and it's a lot darker than you might remember.

Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken. This is the star cast of Disney 2016 adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic Jungle Book. Be right back, we're dying of excitement.

Disney revealed the trailer of their upcoming live-action film recently, and unlike the 1967 animated version that most people would describe as an adventurous but a happy film, the 2016 version, directed by Jon Favreau (of Iron Man fame) will give you the chills. The tone itself is a couple of shades darker right from the first frame of the trailer.

It starts with Scarlett Johansson's voiceover (she plays Kaa, the menacing snake) as she lures Mowgli towards her, while he jumps from tree to tree trying to escape the jungle wilderness. Since the film is live action, 10 year old actor Neel Sethi who plays Mowgli is the only human being in the film.

But we see glimpses of all our favorite characters: Bageera, Sher Khan and even an evil looking Orangutan. We also get to hear seconds-long snippets of the revered soundtrack "Bare Necessities" and "Trust in Me"

In this 2 minute trailer, essentially most ingredients from the 1967 film is present but it's been packaged completely different. Scarlett Johansson adds a sultry, smoking edge to Kaa's appearance and tone, and since the film is live action, the jungle scenes are more dramatic and Sher Khan is scarier.

The Verge reports that the animals and environment are "photo-realistic computer-generate imagery, merged together with performance capture and footage shot of the cast, particularly Neel Sethi, who plays Mowgli"

We're most curious to hear Idris Elba as Khan, and are looking forward to seeing who voices Col. Hathi's character (one of our favorites). Meanwhile, watch the trailer here:
