Can we all agree that Kung Fu Panda is one of the more delightful animated franchises out there? When the first film came out, I figured it would be a wannabe Pixar movie, something that was all visuals and no substance. Boy was I wrong. And the sequel was just as good!

Kung Fu Panda has turned out to be one of the more pleasant surprises over the past few years, and I’m super excited for the third film, which comes out early next year.

The first trailer for Kung Fu Panda 3 was released on Thursday, and it has the same goofy humor, pretty visuals and great voice acting of the first two movies. What’s great about these movies is that it nails the “dumb” humor, the kind of jokes that are so lame they’re funny. And it’s just so fun to watch an aloof and clumsy panda save the world.

Here’s the synopsis for the third film:

When Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible—learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!

Even more goofy pandas learning kung fu? I’m in. Sign me up. The exchange between Po and his father in the trailer is gosh dang ridiculous, and the look on the faces of the locals says it all. Amazing.

Kung Fu Panda 3 will hit theaters Jan. 29, 2016.
