Airtel Payments Bank is the first to offer a fully digital and paperless banking system in India

Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has launched its Payments Bank in India, a fully digital and paperless banking system. The payments bank initiative was announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Airtel Chairman Sunil Mittal. Airtel's Payments Bank beats PayTM to market. The premier mobile wallet has also proposed a similar banking system slated for launch later this year.

Airtel Payments Bank will also eliminate paperwork for opening accounts by using Aadhaar card and biometric authentication for sign up process. Since it's a digital banking platform, the phone number becomes the account number of the user. The Airtel Payments Bank will not charge a processing fee from its customers or merchant partners for digital transactions. The service will encourage more users to adopt cashless transactions. Airtel has clarified that there will be no charges for cash withdrawals either, at least for now. Also, the Rs. 4500 cap on ATM withdrawals, which is active right now, will not apply to Airtel's Payments Bank. The monthly withdrawal limit will be the same as specified by RBI, though.

Airtel says its retail stores across the country will serve as banking points. The company added that the service starts today with over 6 lakh banking points, where users can open savings accounts, deposit or withdraw cash.

"We are products of competition. We are taking a big leap. We have a few months with us before others get their feet in the space," said Sunil Mittal. He added, "Airtel money, the mobile wallet will remain and be different from savings account. Customers have an option to upgrade from Airtel money to bank."

Prison break season 5 trailer has been released :

If there’s one thing that worked against Prison Break in previous seasons, it was the show’s title. There wasn’t any real prison breaking going on, and the adventures of Michael Scofield & Co. weren’t that exciting once they were no longer in prison. However, Wentworth Miller is back for season five and he’s got himself arrested again. That’s right, he’ll be breaking out of prison all over again, and now we get our first look at the new trailer for the upcoming season.

A trailer for the upcoming Prison Break season five reveals that many of our favorite characters from the original series will be back. Michael’s brother Lincoln (Dominic Purcell), Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell (Robert Knepper), and Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) all make appearances in this Prison Break 5 trailer.

Michael Scofield is now held up in a prison in a different country and Lincoln comes to the rescue after he’s informed of his brother’s whereabouts. Apparently, nobody knows where Michael disappeared – or whether or not he’s even alive. But we’re going to find out answers to our questions when the show returns to TV at some point in the spring of 2017. Check out the new trailer below.

Introducing WhatApp's Desktop App

Following the release of leaked documents showing a WhatsApp desktop client being in the works, WhatsApp has now officially introduced the offering for Windows and Mac via their company blog.

From WhatsApp:

"Today we're introducing a desktop app so you have a new way to stay in touch anytime and anywhere - whether on your phone or computer at home or work. Like WhatsApp Web, our desktop app is simply an extension of your phone: the app mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device.

The new desktop app is available for Windows 8+ and Mac OS 10.9+ and is synced with WhatsApp on your mobile device. Because the app runs natively on your desktop, you'll have support for native desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more.

To download the app, visit https://www.whatsapp.com/download from your desktop browser. Then, open the app and scan the QR code using the WhatsApp app on your phone (look for WhatsApp Web menu under Settings)."

The app itself is similar to that of WhatsApp web, so if you've used that previously, setting up the desktop client should be a breeze. It's available for Windows 8 and higher, and Mac OS X 10.9 and higher.

When it comes to supported devices, it all remains the same as WhatsApp as well, meaning there's now support for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S60 and now both Windows and Mac.

Android N

Android N is set to be the best Android release yet with tons of improvements and new features. Here’s everything we know so far about the next iteration of Google’s mobile operating system.

Android N release date and device availability

The preview version of Android N was made available on 9 March by Google. Usually, the first look at a new Android OS normally happens at Google I/O, which is scheduled for 18 May 2016.

Despite the preview coming far earlier than anticipated, we will no doubt see some more features of the new OS at the show. Google said that the final preview version of Android N will be ready by the summer. Far quicker than in previous years.

The final version of the code that consumers will get their hands on will be released around October, around the same time as a new Nexus device.

The rollout of Android N to existing Nexus devices will occur in the next few weeks after that. We would expect Android N to land on a Samsung S7 sometime in 2017.

Android N name

As is a long-established tradition, the name of the Android operating system has a confectionery connotation. We can only speculate on what the name will be; either a dessert or a type of sweets.

These names are generic with the exception of KitKat, which, of course, is a brand. Hiroshi Lockheimer, SVP Android, Chrome OS & Chromecast at Google hinted in a Medium post that the next version of Android could be named after another brand of confectionery; namely Nutella.

“So, the burning question that’s on everyone’s mind: what will the N release be named? We’re nut tellin’ you yet,” he said.

Android N developer preview

There is a developer preview available to download. It sports a number of features, such as multiple window support and enhancements to notifications. Dave Burke, Google’s vice president of engineering, described the preview as a “work in progress”, so expect it to be a little rough in places. "We're doing something a little different this year by releasing the preview early... really early," Google vice president of engineering Dave Burke said in a blog post.

Android N features Multiple window support

Android N will sport a new feature, dubbed Multi-window, which allows multiple windows on a single display. The attribute called android:resizableActivity is available for apps targeting N and beyond. With this enabled, a user can put apps into a split-screen mode. The feature is said to work when users switch from landscape to portrait mode. The apps should be able to handle the reconfiguration themselves. Apps can also go into picture-in-picture mode on devices like TVs.

Notifications

There are a couple of enhancements to notifications. First, Android N allows users to receive incoming message notifications quickly and conveniently, without leaving the notification shade. There is also a feature called Bundled Notifications. This, as you can work out, groups notifications from the same app together - for example individual messages from a messaging app. Grouped notifications can be expanded into individual notifications by using a two-finger gesture or tapping the new expansion button.

Efficiency

Android N hopes to eke out more life from your device’s battery when the screen is turned off, like with Doze in Marshmallow, which saves battery when your device is stationary. Doze has a new feature to save battery life as part of Project Svelte, an effort to reduce the memory needs of Android so that it can run on a much broader range of devices. In N, the feature makes background work run more efficiently.
